Leftist Green New Deal Is A Giant Cow Fart
Published : February 11, 2019
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA), and 67 Democrat co-sponsors unveiled House Resolution 109 to applause and congratulations from everyone who lacks common sense and a basic understanding of economics. The GND could easily be a chapter pulled from Communist Manifesto 2.0.
What is explained in not just the resolution, but the Overview and FAQs, is what the Leftist Party desires. This is no longer a party of Democrats who are liberally-minded. They are leftists who are laying all of their cards on the table, face up. This bill reveals their overarching agenda of massive government takeover. More than a half dozen times, the bill refers to the “systemic injustices” (i.e. racism, sexism, classism, insert -ism) affecting the “frontline and vulnerable communities.” These communities are indigenous, of color, migrant, deindustrialized, depopulated rural, poor, low income workers, women, elderly, unhoused, people with disabilities, and youth. The one group left out of this is white men. And if you have paid any attention at all in the past two years, this comes as no shock.
But the roughly 2,000-word resolution does not provide much in the way of substance. The true reveal of the new Communist Manifesto is in the FAQs, which was given to NPR and then promptly removed by Ocasio-Cortez’s office because it revealed a little too much truth, though she claimed it was just a “draft.”
The GND is a 10-year national mobilization, in which someone or something will “mobilize every aspect of American society at a scale not seen since World War 2 to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions and create economic prosperity for all.” For this pie-in-the-sky level of attainment, all fossil fuels must be eliminated, which means 99 percent of cars and all airplanes must go. Even Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) questioned that one. Poor Hawaii would be left all by its lonesome.
With no combustion-engine vehicles, there will be charging stations for electric vehicles, but there is no explanation of how power plants will provide the energy because nuclear is not allowed either.
And that is still not enough. Perhaps the most egregious point made in the FAQs is that farting cows are out, too. Yes, it actually states that farting cows are of high concern and must mooove out of the way (too punny not to include).
Within HR 109, it also states that within 10 years somehow someone will be “upgrading all existing buildings in the United States and building new buildings to achieve maximal energy efficiency.” Every. Single. Building. And they will use smart grids and electrification to make it happen.
If right now you are not questioning what is happening, then you are lost to the dark side. The writers of this bill and explanation of the bill demand that you do not question such things. As a rally cry they simply say “Americans love a challenge. This is our moonshot.” And if you dare question the cost of any of this, you are missing the point.
“Federal Reserve can extend credit to power these projects,” the FAQs state. “At the end of the day, this is an investment in our economy that should grow our wealth as a nation, so the question isn’t how will we pay for it, but what will we do with our new shared prosperity!”
This bill wants all clean energy, no car or air travel, government-guaranteed jobs, free education from cradle to grave, safe, affordable housing, healthy food, access to nature, and no cows. How do we pay for it? How dare you even ask!
Let that sink in, and then read through the resolution and FAQs for yourself. Decide if this is the America you want to live in. Because there is no hiding anymore, no laughing it off, thinking the sane Democrats and Republicans are going to save you. The Leftist Party is showing you their hand, and you decide if you care about the republic to do something or if you are OK with complete government takeover. Make a choice while you still have one to make.
