Mother’s Day Is Not For Gaia Or AOC

Happy Mother’s Day weekend everyone, and if you are reading this realizing that you completely forgot about this important upcoming holiday, you best set down the device you are reading this upon and immediately think about what you are going to do for the mom(s) in your life.

This week has provided a plethora of commentary about mothers, particularly the ultimate mother to the leftists: Mother Gaia. There was more discussion about climate change and how the world is ending in 12 years (sorry to alarm you). MSNBC took it upon themselves to celebrate children around the world honoring Mother Earth by skipping school every Friday as a form of protest. According to Fridays for Future, students are protesting in more than 500 countries and 75 countries, with a global strike scheduled for May 24.

“I’ve been skipping school for 11 weeks now,” 12-year-old student protestor Ella said to reporter Savannah Sellers. “And it is a sacrifice that we have to make because we are missing important things, but we realize that if we don’t skip this school, we might not have a future. So we need to.”

If these kids are not inspired by Mother Gaia herself, then it is highly likely they are following the logic of another non-mother mother for the Left, found in the form of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who even though she questions whether women should have kids, has somehow become a mother figure and idol to the non-thinkers.

In a continued battle for her Green New Deal, a report by the American Action Forum was released estimating the cost of the “clean, renewable, and zero-emission energy sources” section. To be achieved within 10 years, it will cost more than $5 trillion, which breaks down to more than $2,500 per family.

And with that, Ocasio-Cortez took her message of energy sources to her Instagram story where she made a plea and discovery about the mystery that is the garbage disposal. The 29-year-old former waitress claimed in the video that she had never before seen a garbage disposal and has no idea of how to use it or what is its purpose. It is almost as awkward as her not knowing how to give a hug (Warning: it is a very awkward hug with Bernie Sanders. Proceed at your own risk).

But Ocasio-Cortez did not limit herself to mothering about Earth and took to inform the world that she is now an obstetrician and gynecologist. Her announcement was made after Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed into law the “ fetal heartbeat” bill, which prohibits abortion after six weeks, which is generally the time of a heartbeat’s detection in an embryo.

"Georgia is a state that values life," Kemp said before signing the bill. “We stand up for those who are unable to speak for themselves."

Ocasio-Cortez decided to tweet her understanding of heartbeats in the only manner she knows how.

“‘6 weeks pregnant’ = 2 weeks late on your period,” the tweet began. “Most of the men writing these bills don’t know the first thing about a woman’s body outside of the things they want from it. It’s relatively common for a woman to have a late period + not pregnant. So this is a backdoor ban.”

Ocasio-Cortez failed to mention that three of the bill’s five co-sponsors were women, but those are details, details, details.

Following the same sentiment was CNN contributor Christine Quinn, who announced to CNN host Chris Cuomo and former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) that getting pregnant does not mean an individual baby is involved.

“When a woman gets pregnant, that is not a human being inside of her,” Quinn proclaimed to the panel. “It’s part of her body. This is about a woman having full agency and control of her body.”

Of course when Santorum asked Quinn and Cuomo to define when life begins, neither could and/or simply refused to acknowledge truth.

And then there was the man who felt he needed to get his two cents in about the debate. Democrat State Rep. Brian Sims, the first elected openly gay state legislator in Pennsylvania history, took it upon himself to do some on-street reporting of an elderly woman who was praying outside of a Planned Parenthood. Sims thought it a good idea to bully and harass the woman. He then did a second video where he tried to doxx teenage girls.

In the inevitable follow-up non-apology apology video, Sims said he will continue to fight for women and added that he is a volunteer patient escort, supporter, activist, and advocate of Planned Parenthood. That statement immediately puts into question all sincerity of his words for helping women.

At this point, you are probably questioning if there is any sanity left. The bad news is, there is not a whole lot, but the good news is that you can be the sanity. All you have to do is wish your mom and/or mothers you know a happy Mother’s Day and thank them for knowing that you were a baby and you are their son or daughter. Also, thank them for telling you about the mystery that is the garbage disposal.
