‘Playing’ Dumb Is About All Ocasio-Cortez Knows

It had been a solid three days without utter nonsense coming from a freshman member of Congress, so leave it to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) to pick up the slack.

On Monday, June 17, Ocasio-Cortez went “live” on Instagram, complete with IKEA furniture that did not get put together because there was too much incomprehensible, head-scratching garble flowing from her lips.

The nearly hour-long soliloquy was splashed with cutesy hearts and comments from her adoring fans, and covered all of the democratic socialist’s wish list items of free healthcare, free college, $15 minimum wage, this right, that right, etc. But the 30 seconds getting all of the airplay for the rest of the week included America’s southern border detention centers and the claim that they are actually concentration camps.

“The United States is running concentration camps on our southern border,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “And that is exactly what they are. They are concentration camps. And if that doesn't bother you, I don't-- I got nothin'. I like-- we can have-- ok, whatever. I wanna talk to the people that are concerned enough with humanity to say that we should not-- that ‘never again’ means something.”

By saying “never again” Ocasio-Cortez made a specific reference to the Holocaust because that phrase is distinct for that atrocity. She spent the rest of the week tweeting away in an effort to defend her assertion by making it much, much worse for her argument. She was clearly triggered.

“And for the shrieking Republicans who don’t know the difference: concentration camps are not the same as death camps,” she wrote the next morning. “Concentration camps are considered by experts as “the mass detention of civilians without trial.”

In another tweet that same day, Ocasio-Cortez did link an article to Esquire, but it is unclear if she believes the journalists at the men’s magazine are the experts to which she is referring. Not much clarity was provided in 280 characters.

The exacerbated fight continued, as government officials, religious leaders, and everyday people with some common sense remaining, pointed out just how incorrect and absurd an assertion to think that illegal aliens being detained is the same as what happened in Nazi concentration camps in Germany and Poland from 1933-1945.

Rep. Elizabeth Cheney (R-WY) encouraged Ocasio-Cortez to learn “some actual history” about the Holocaust, but Ocasio-Cortez did not look kindly on the comment, replying that Cheney was “co-opting the language of the oppressor” by using the term extermination in her tweet to describe what happened to the Jews during the Holocaust.

Then, Dominik Tarczynski, a member of Poland’s parliament, formally invited Ocasio-Cortez to his country to visit the former concentration camps, an opportunity any American citizen should cordially accept. One hopes Mr. Tarczynski does not hold his breath waiting for a response, much less an acceptance.

Ocasio-Cortez did have her defenders, and some were even outside of her usual groupies. Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) made claim on CNN that the congresswoman “has a different usage of words” and a “different perception.” That is one way to put it.

However, one response Ocasio-Cortez may not have figured on getting, at least the way she got it, came from MSNBC’s Chuck Todd, who did some journalisming and on-air actually pointed out the insanity of her thoughts.

“Congresswoman, tens of thousands were also brutalized, starved, and ultimately died in concentration camps,” Todd said. “"Be careful comparing them to Nazi concentration camps because they’re not at all comparable in the slightest … Some Democrats have been reluctant to condemn her remarks; they don't want to get criticized on Twitter.”

In fascist fashion, Todd was taken to the woodshed by the sycophants of the left who will destroy any and everyone who dare step out of line, no matter how loyal one has been to the left up to that point. Someone named Pitt Mommy actually claimed that Todd was “an apologist for this administration’s crimes” and Ryan Cooper said he “could carve a better man than Chuck Todd out of a banana.” Now that would actually be something to see.

There are so many more examples and points to make on this topic, but that is why you can just watch the video below. Hint, hint. Really embrace the aura of Ocasio-Cortez, and then bang your head upon a table.

Just remember, the only death camps that are being run in America today are in buildings labeled Planned Parenthood, as every day they exterminate 900 helpless children. Keep focused on the true atrocities happening in this country and fighting for real justice, not the fake outrage put out by Ocasio-Cortez and her comrades, all while building IKEA furniture.
