Democrats Hope Illegal Immigrants Reach The Border In Time For Midterms
Published : October 22, 2018
This is reminiscent of the debacle this summer when American punditry and politicians argued about allowing Mexican women and children into the United States illegally. Those on the left will claim these Hondurans are innocent people and must be let in. Those on the right will argue that they are illegal and should have to go back home. In other words, nothing has changed in the past six months.
With just over two weeks until the Tuesday, Nov. 6 midterm election, the actions on this situation could spell detrimental for either party depending on the outcome. And it is precarious how these events are coinciding. According to several reports, the caravan or invaders, if you will, have 1,700 miles to travel. The question for Democrats is if they can get to the border in time to appeal to the heartstrings of voting Americans.
Big media is covering the events in their usual ways, interviewing the few mothers and children who are on the trek and giving the truly sad stories. But there is also footage of thousands of Hondurans storming the border fence between Guatemala and Mexico, all while about 500 Mexican police officers wait to see if the fence will hold. Spoiler alert: It does not hold.
And now the trespassers are on their way to the United States. Interviews reveal they are coming to the United States to work and rid themselves of threats from gangs. But they are doing so illegally, rather than using procedural law. And then there are those who claim President Donald Trump is antichrist.
The same man who claims President Trump is antichrist also argued that the migrants are fighters. He forgot to mention that they are literally walking away from their own countries instead of banding together with his fellow walkers and fighting to make changes. While there is great hate for President Trump, these people will walk thousands of miles to get into the country of which Trump is president. This is leftist logic at its finest. Immigration is one of the hot-button issues that succinctly displays the left’s illogical tendencies. People on the left want all of the immigrants to come to this country, but they also say that this country is repressive. But, if the United States is oppressive, why do all of the immigrants want to come to this country? Chew on that one for a bit.
In the meantime, President Trump gave the American people his two cents, or rather three tweets to explain the American position as of now. “Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador were not able to do the job of stopping people from leaving their country and coming illegally to the U.S. We will now begin cutting off, or substantially reducing, the massive foreign aid routinely given to them,” he wrote.
That sounds all well and good if action follows the rhetoric, but as Americans are well aware, President Trump says a lot of things. This is a time for action, time for a physical deterrent. A wall may do the trick. Americans already have work to do with the citizenry to ensure better quality of life. FreedomProject has previously explained that there are 700,000 homeless adolescents and 3.5 million homeless young adults in this country. There is needed help for those who are legal citizens without adding to the problem.
With the election just two weeks away, remember this: the party who falters last will lose. Whoever puts forth the dumbest action closest to the midterm election will find themselves as the minority party. This is why it is so important to not emote your vote. Do not head to the polls in two weeks with emotion of how illegal immigrants want jobs, homes, or the American dream. Remember that they want all of these things by storming the gates and yelling that they deserve it. Do not emote, or you will fall prey to exactly what the Democrats want, a vote and nothing more.
