Democrats Claim They’re Smarter Than Most; Actions Prove Otherwise

At the ‘Bend Towards Justice” conference in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, Hirono said that Democrats’ ability to connect with people—specifically those whom Democrats want votes from—is sometimes thwarted because of said smarts.
“We Democrats know so much, that is true,” Hirono told journalist Dahlia Lithwick. “And we have kind of have to tell everyone how smart we are and so we have a tendency to be very left brain."
But it does not stop there. Hirono gave visual to help her not-so-smart audience members know what she meant when she said that Democrats are smart.
"We're really good at shoving out all the information that touch people here (points to head) but not here (points to heart),” Hirono said.
Sen. Hirono may have gotten her body parts mixed up, because anyone who has been paying any attention to the world for the past three years has seen just how much (points to heart) the Democrats have been expressing.
Taking for a moment the senator’s premise that Democrats are smarter, what evidence has been shown? Looking solely on the past week from both the old face of the Democrats in Hillary Clinton and the new face in the form of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, take a look at the facts.
According to Ms. Ocasio-Cortez, who turned 29 years old in October, she can run for president despite not being at least 35 years old. Her words were spoken at a Politico photoshoot at Harvard University on Thursday, Dec. 6.
“We’ve been joking that because the Equal Rights Amendment hasn’t been passed yet, the Constitution technically says he cannot run unless he’s 35,” Ocasio-Cortez was overheard saying. “So what we’ll do is we’ll force the Republican Party to pass the Equal Rights Amendment by threatening to run for president.”
Here is what the Constitution actually says: “No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office, who shall not have attained to the age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States.”
In other words, just no. This came just a few days after stating at a townhall, “We need to invent technology that’s never even been invented yet.” That is true and also not advancing anything substantively.
Then there is Clinton, who has been discarded yet again, this time being put on Groupon for more than 55 percent off and in some instances ticket prices in the single digits. The discounted tickets are for Bill and Hillary’s “An Evening with The Clintons” events, which have been dismal in attendance so far. If Hillary is smart, she will save all the money she can from those events because she may need them for her bail because it looks like those emails are coming back.
If this one week’s worth of activities says anything about the Democrats’ intellect (which it does), then God help us all.
